This is a “Creative Stitching Workshop” and should run approximately 5 ½ - 6 hours for participants to obtain the greatest benefit. We will focus on the 50 stitches in Sue Spargo’s Creative Stitching book Second Edition. Book is not mandatory to take the class BUT is of great benefit for the serious stitcher - copies available from the Cotton Harvest. Eleganza threads will be provided which students can use throughout the day for their stitching. They should expect to bring home a completed project as threads won’t be supplied to take home. If they would like a spool or two to take home with them a selection of threads will be available for purchase.
There is some homework required prior to class in order to obtain the most benefit from learning during the workshop. This will require an estimated number of participants at least a month prior to the workshop in order for kits to be delivered to a central location for hand out or pick up. Participants should be prepared to come to class with all nine circles whip stitched down to their background piece of wool.
A dental hygienist by trade, never in a million years did Trina O’Rourke, think that she would end her 35year dental career answering live phone calls in public health during a pandemic! She’s quite happy with her career change as she’s now able to focus on making her shop, The Cotton Harvest in Seaforth, Ontario, all it can be. She has logged countless hours of Creative Stitching instruction with Sue Spargo by attending several weeklong workshops with her. Her new obsession is Creative Stitching and she’s looking forward to sharing her knowledge and skill with you
Kit will include wool background and 9 punched circles, 4 needles and Eleganza embellishing threads that are used during the day. Students will be creating a stitch sampler from the kit
